About

With a wealth of medical experience spanning more than 20 years, Rebecca is an expert in paediatric care. She has a genuine passion for nurturing the health and well-being of children and supporting their families.

Rebecca completed both a science and a medical degree, graduating with honours in 2002. After another decade training in the care of babies and children, she finished her specialist paediatric training (FRACP) in 2014.

Rebecca's professional trajectory includes years working at the Royal Children's Hospital, Royal Women's Hospital and Monash Health. She expanded her skills during a fellowship year in London, working at the prestigious Great Ormond Street Hospital.

Rebecca currently works as a Staff Specialist Paediatrician at Eastern Health, where she oversees the special care nursery and paediatric ward, caring for children aged 0-18 years. Her dedication has been recognised by being awarded the "Patient First' values award for Box Hill Hospital.

Rebecca particularly loves looking after babies and infants. She has worked in neonatal intensive care units at 4 hospitals and also worked for the neonatal retrieval service in Victoria (PIPER). She has also worked in the outpatient setting following up babies, infants and children across both public and private settings for the last decade. She believes that supporting the first 1000 day journey for infants and their families helps set children up for optimal whole of life outcomes.

Rebecca maintains up-to-date knowledge and regularly instructs nationally recognised resuscitation courses such as Advanced Paediatric Life Support and Advanced Neoresus. She examines and teaches medical students and helps support the training of junior doctors in paediatric care.

Beyond her clinical expertise, Rebecca is deeply engaged in leadership and system design. Holding an Associate Fellowship in Medical Administration (AFRACMA) and Specialist Certificates in Clinical Leadership and Governance, she is committed to shaping effective and patient-centric healthcare systems. She is a passionate advocate for kindness in medicine, recognising its profound impact on both patients and staff in ensuring optimal outcomes.

Outside of medicine, Rebecca can be found at home with her family including 2 teenage daughters and dog Astrid. She loves playing cricket, helping out at

her surf lifesaving club or going for hikes.
